“We do this every year. We celebrate with the people of the CNMI. We hope our donation helps the committee to help people celebrate this occasion,” said Bank of Guam Vice President and CNMI Regional Manager Marcie M. Tomokane.

The annual Liberation Day Carnival will open on Saturday, July 1 at the Garapan Fishing Base. The hours of operation are from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday and Sunday, and 5:30 p.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturday.

On Tuesday, July 4, the carnival grounds will be open from 10 a.m. till noon.

This year’s Liberation Day theme is “Resiliency Rising,” which, according to Liberation Day Committee Chairwoman Nadine Deleon Guerrero, reflects the CNMI’s reaction to Super Typhoons Soudelor and Yutu, Typhoon Mawar, and the Covid-19 pandemic.

She said the Liberation Day Committee continues to welcome more sponsors. For more information, contact the Mayor’s Office of Saipan at (670) 234-6208 or email Jeanette Sarabia, the Sponsorship Committee chairwoman at liberationday.committee@gmail.com.
