Katmelo Country Cliff resident grateful to Mayor RB for clearing road

(Office of the Saipan Mayor) — Local resident Jesus Lizama San Nicolas had good words to say about Saipan Mayor RB Camacho and his staff.

The 83-year-old Saipan resident stated that the Saipan Mayor’s Office field crews took the time to clear the one-way road down to his residence at the Katmelo Country Cliff area near Coral Ocean Point. He wishes to extend his greatest appreciations to Mayor Camacho and his field operations crew for their hard work. San Nicolas said he fully understands and supports the initiatives of the mayor in maintaining the island.

San Nicolas also requested that something be done to smooth out the road. He suggested that material such as sand be used to help cover the potholes on the road. However, he also understands the current situation regarding quarry materials.

Referring to a previous time he met the mayor, he remarked :“I like the point what you’re [Mayor] saying there. Why are you going to take government property to put in another government property and to use the mayor’s budget to pay for that? That’s wrong. For me, that’s wrong.”

However, San Nicolas remains optimistic that both sides will be able to resolve the issue and work out an agreement regarding the materials.

San Nicolas is in favor of the initiatives of Mayor Camacho in the beautification and maintenance of the island.

He hopes to further continue a dialogue and cooperation with Mayor Camacho. “I hope that he continues. I like the way, what he’s doing,”  San Nicolas said.
