Lulu Ermaluuk, Palau Election Commission (PEC) officer said the voting will start from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
There are two polling places designated by the PEC during the election. One at the Kayangel State Office and one at the Palau High School Gym in Koror for the central box.
The state has 417 registered voters. After the closing time all ballot boxes will be brought to the PEC office and counting and canvassing of votes will start.
There are two candidates for the gubernatorial post. Incumbent Gov. Edwin Chiokai and Jeffrey Titiml.
For the legislature vying for the 12 seats are: Clifford Poch Osima, Inawo Sebaklim, Richard Ngiraked, Ricky Ngiraked, Harrington Olebuu, Valentina Bangiar Omelau, Keity M. Bandarii, Elmis Ruluked, Stevenson Mokisang, Roman Mongami, Kurt Ngiraked, Esichang Takawo, Asailee M. Yamada, Niro Bandarii, Francisca Skiwo, Jack Ngiraked, Hadley Hesus and Midas Ngiracheluolu.
The Kayangel State Election is conducted every last Tuesday of May. Elected officials have term of two years in office.
Meanwhile the primary election for Ngarchelong State will be held on June 25.
Ermaluuk said primary election is conducted if the state has more than two candidates for governor.
Voters will vote for their governor’s bet and the two leading candidates in the primary election will compete on August General election.
Incumbent Gov. Brown Salvador, Tobias F Aguon, Hayes Nngiratregd and Lorenzo Ngiramolau are the four candidates for gubernatorial post.
