Yesterday, a defendant in a sexual abuse case appeared for a detention hearing with 13 others at the U.S. Immigration Court on Saipan.
Honolulu Immigration Court Judge Clarence M. Wagner Jr. presided over the hearing.
The respondents were Aquilino Cruz Castillo, Serenade Mereb, Yuqiong Zheng, Bohu Li, Antonieta Bonifacio Aguon, Arnel Ruga Del Rosario, Yiu Li Sun, George Wilson Satoshi, Camilo Javier Jr., Ricky Salibad Luis, Jinshan Wu, Wayne Weilbacher Jack, Dongmei Ju, and Qin Zhang.
Some of the respondents have criminal records.
As of Oct. 19, 2011, a total of 238 detention hearings and court proceedings were received by the immigration court from Nov. 29, 2009 through June 30, 2011.
A total of 134 decisions have been made by the court for the same dates.
These decisions include 6 administrative closing and others; 1, change of venue; 89, removal; 14, terminated; 2, transferred; and 22, voluntary departure.
