Guam Police Department spokesman Officer A.J. Balajadia said at around 6:10 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance in the area. Upon arrival, three victims – a man and two women – were located on the second floor of the apartment building.
Balajadia said the women were transported to the Guam Memorial Hospital; however, the man’s body was still in the apartment building as of press time.
GMH nursing supervisor Sallie Quichocho indicated both women died within about an hour of each other. She would not confirm how they died, although a hospital source told Variety they both died of gunshot wounds.
A source told Variety one woman died when she reached the hospital, while the other died while in surgery. The source also told Variety that both were identified as Jane Does since neither had identification. Further, one appeared to be Caucasian and the other Filipina.
“Jane Doe 1 was taken to the Operating Room and died while in surgery at 8:20 p.m. Jane Doe 2 was dead on arrival and expired at around 7 p.m.,” said Quichocho.
Criminal Investigation Division detectives were at the scene and cordoned the area. They also interviewed possible witnesses at the crime scene.
Neighbors who lived across the apartment complex told Variety they heard five gun shots. One neighbor said he didn’t know them personally but sometimes spoke to the now-deceased man. He said the man was Filipino and from the province of Pampanga.
He told Variety the man had a little girl between 7 or 8 years old.
“They have a little girl. I’ve seen a kid several times on the balcony; a chubby little girl. I always see them hanging clothes and I say, ‘Hi, good morning,’” he said.
It’s not known if a child was at the scene when the alleged shooting occurred and GPD would not confirm this.
The neighbor said the police were asking him about a gray pickup truck that was parked on the side of the road.
“I never saw that pickup truck. It’s the first time we saw that pickup truck here,” he said. The neighbor said he suspects the homicides occurred because of “a love triangle.”
GPD law enforcement personnel are still investigating the incident.
