Reports from the Commonwealth Auto Dealers Association showed that from January to September, the three car dealers — Joeten Motors, Microl Corp. and Triple “J” Motors — sold 180 sedans, 41 trucks, 16 vans and 90 sport utility vehicles.
Microl Corp. leads with 138 total cars sold for the nine-month period, followed by Joeten Motors with 100, and Triple “J” Motors with 97.
From Jan. to Sept. 2008, Microl Corp. sold 244 brand new cars. Joeten Motors sold 158 and Triple “J” 98.
Toyota is the leading brand of choice from January to September this year, posting 134 brand new units.
Nissan comes second with 51 units sold, followed by Mazda with 42.
Mitsubishi sold 30 units; Honda, 29; Hyundai, 18; Ford, 13; Kia and Suzuki, seven each. No sales were made for Isuzu.
The first three quarters of this year saw a total of 306 used cars sold by the three car dealers, with Microl selling the most — 15. Joeten sold 11; Triple “J,” eight.
Sales for brand new cars last month dipped by 8.51 percent compared to September last year.
The three dealers sold 43 brand new cars last month, four short of the 47 sold in Sept. 2008.
The brand new cars sold included 28 sedans, four trucks, two vans and nine SUVs.
Joeten topped the sales last month with 22 brand new cars sold representing 51.16 percent of the market share, followed by Microl with 18 cars and Triple “J” with three.
Joeten is the distributor of Nissan, Ford, Honda and Kia. Microl sells Toyota and Chevrolet, while Triple “J” Motors is the local dealer of Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Suzuki and Mazda.
