As of 11:30 a.m., John Oliver DLR. Gonzales, Chong Man Won, Juan T. Lizama and Gregorio C. Sablan were seen with their supporters greeting motorists.
All of them expressed confidence that they would get the mandate of the CNMI people.
“I am thankful to my supporters,” said Lizama, who was wearing a mwar.
Lizama’s followers set up their tent across from the school to offer refreshments to the public.
Sablan got a chance of greeting Won who just arrived to join his supporters in the area.
They exchanged pleasantries as their supporters looked on.
“I am just running to win,” Sablan said when asked about his chances.
He noted, however, that the supporters of another candidate had entered the restricted area near the polling precinct.
A former Election Commission executive director, Sablan said, “It’s up to the commission to address the problem.”
Gonzales, wearing a mwar, was carrying his child and stood with his wife, just yards away from the other candidates.
“I’m going to prevail,” Gonzales said.
He said he was thankful to God for giving the people the opportunity to choose for an alternative candidate who can usher in a new era for the CNMI.
Won said he came to express appreciation to his supporters and other members of the public.
