
FOUR defendants in separate criminal cases pleaded not guilty at an arraignment before Superior Court Presiding Judge Roberto C. Naraja on Monday.
Gerald Serrano, 33, entered a not guilty plea to charges of assault and battery, strangulation, domestic violence, and disturbing the peace. He was accused of strangling his wife with an extension cord on Aug. 30 after accusing her of cheating.
William Indalecio Jr., 36, and Ethan Sanchez, 33, both pleaded not guilty to theft charges. The two were among the three men arrested for stealing a 2005 Suzuki LTZ 250 ATV from a residence in As Gonno early on Aug. 25. Information on their co-defendant, Nolan Magofna, 32, was not available as of Tuesday afternoon.
Ignacio Repeki Aldan Jr., 33, denied the allegations against him and pleaded not guilty to charges of robbery, vehicle theft, assault and battery, theft, and disturbing the peace. Aldan was accused of assaulting a man and stealing his vehicle on Aug. 18.
Sanchez was represented by attorney Gilbert Birnbrich, while Serrano, Indalecio and Aldan were represented by the Public Defender’s Office. Assistant Attorney General Heather Barcinas appeared for the government.
Judge Naraja scheduled Serrano’s status conference for Oct. 16 at 1:30 p.m. before Judge Kenneth L. Govendo. Indalecio and Sanchez are scheduled to return to court on Oct. 28 before Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio, and Aldan will return on Oct. 15 at 9 a.m. before Judge Joseph N. Camacho.
All defendants were remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections following the hearing.
