“We have received word today from the United States government confirming their position of temporary resettling the Uighurs in Palau,” he told reporters.
Four Uighurs have agreed to temporarily resettle in Palau, he said.
The U.S. Congress, he added, will need to be informed 15 days before the transfer of the detainees.
In an earlier interview, Toribiong said the transfer will likely occur before January.
Special travel documents will be given to the detainees to facilitate their transfer to Palau.
