The K-5 student of St. Paul’s Christian School became inspired when she would go to the Navy Exchange with her grandmother and notice a big box outside the facility with a sign asking for donations such as toys or clothes.
This past Saturday night, she modeled and danced in the 40th anniversary celebration of John Robert Powers and noticed non-profit organization ISLA Inc. was the recipient of the raffle tickets and silent auction.
ISLA Inc. will use the money to purchase school supplies for less-privileged children here on Guam and in Micronesia.
Because of what she saw, Hannah decided immediately that she also wanted to make a donation and yesterday brought to the Variety’s Guam office boxes of filler paper, notebooks, crayons, pencils and pens.
“I want to give to the less-fortunate,” she said shyly as she looked around at the supplies.
ISLA Inc. is 100 percent volunteer-based and exists solely on donations. For information about the organization, visit them online at www.islandsuccess.org.
