The new school lies on a quiet and sprawling campus.
School director Lee R. Francia said she believes confining the children into one room for the whole day is not conducive to learning.
“We have separate rooms for the different activities so the kids can move around,” Francia said.
At Kids Cove, Francia said the daycare and kindergarten students get separate learning instructions to fit their varying needs.
“We don’t mix the infants and toddlers with the kindergarten. The kinder have their own classrooms and playground, and they can only enter the daycare area when they need the activity center and the sleeping room,” Francia said.
A nurse and a midwife will be teaching the infant/toddler section, which Francia said, is a plus, because both know the importance of child development.
With qualified instructors at the helm and spacious classrooms conducive to learning, Francia said the parents can be assured that their children are in good hands.
Parent-teacher collaboration
The success of student learning should not be relied only in school or at home alone, but it should be collaboration between the teachers and the parents, said Francia.
She said they will be giving parents a report of the student’s activities during the day in school so the learning process can continue at home.
The Kids Cove Learning Center is one place children would love to stay in. Colorful artworks adorn each room to provide a more enticing environment for the children.
The learning center has complete facilities including an infant room where parents can place cribs, a toddler room where crawlers can hold activities, sleeping rooms, a lounge/study area, art room for the toddlers and a separate art and recreation area for kinder, an activity center, and separate spacious playgrounds for the toddlers and the kindergarten.
A garden outside the school is available to spark the interest of kindergarten kids toward science and medicine.
“The school aims to introduce to the world of science, such as letting them plant and observing how plants grow,” Francia said.
The bottom line of this training, she added, is to develop students who would see the island as their real home and stay here to work instead of to other places.
“At Kids Cove, it is not just simple learning but we focus on the development of the children in social, emotional, physical and all other aspects,” Francia said.
