ABTC reaches out to KagHS students

12th grade student Joey Borja said the information in the presentation was pretty straight to the point and the youth should not attempt to “misunderstand” the information.

“I enjoyed listening to what ABTC had to offer today. We need this type of presentation more often — at least four a year — because people tend to ‘forget’ the restrictions,” said Borja, adding, “the laws and regulations governing the sale of tobacco and/or alcoholic beverages are important to society as it regulates order and peace.”

Pedro Tudela, another senior, agrees with the ABTC presenters. He said he learned a lot from the info-session. He was most interested in the sting operations ABTC officials mentioned in the presentations. “If I were asked to help in a sting operation I would go for it. People need to wait till they are at the right age to be consuming alcohol and tobacco,” Tudela told Variety in an interview.

ABTC Director David R. Maratita said  it is very important to let students be aware of the laws surrounding them. If they do not have the knowledge then they are incapable of knowing whether or not it is the right and lawful choice to do what they want to do, he added.

ABTC’s next presentation will be at Tanapag Elementary School.
