“All you need is the desire to learn and get the training that you need,” Northern Marianas Trades Institute owner Tony Pellegrino said.
Pellegrino, who was yesterday’s speaker at the Saipan Rotary Club meeting at the Hyatt, said NMTI has students who are high school dropouts and people who are over 60 years old.
He said NMTI offers training for useful lifetime skills.
“We train our students to work with the head which represents their attitude toward work; the heart, which represents their work ethics; and finally the hands, which represent skills,” Pellegrino said.
“We have good quality people here but we have neglected them. Almost all jobs in hotels and other establishments in the CNMI are filled by nonresident workers. We can provide the training and produce the local manpower needed to fill up local jobs,” he added.
He urged the community to check out NMTI.
“We are sure we can have something that can help you, no matter if you are a fresh high school graduate or 55 years old,” Pellegrino said.
