American Memorial Park to host ‘pirate night’

United States park ranger Nancy Kelchner told the Variety that the event will be open for the whole community especially the children.

“This is a night where children, teens and the whole family can come into American Memorial Park garbed in pirate’s attire complete with hats, swords and the whole works,” Kelchner said.

Dubbed as the “Talk like Pirate Night”, Kelchner said they have prepared a whole bunch of enjoyable activities for all age groups.

“The children will be given a pirate name, and we also have instant photo services where children can have their photographs taken,” she said. Kelchner added that the kids can take their photographs and keep them as souvenir.

Kelchner said that parents and guardians can participate in the activities like solving the Pirate Math problems. She added that there will be pirate arts and crafts to make from recycled materials.

In addition, Kelchner said that they will be showing a pirate movie for the guests.

She said that this year, they will be showing “The Black Swan”, a film showing notorious pirate Henry Morgan who enlists the help of some of his former partners in ridding the Carribean of Buccaneers.

Kelchner said The Black Swan, starred by Tyrone Power, Maureen O’Hara and Laird Cregar is a very nice film fit for the night’s theme.

The “Talk like a Pirate Night” is an annual event hosted by American Memorial Park every 19th of September and this year is the fourth year of celebrating the event.

Kelchner said that the next activity American Memorial Park will be hosting is the “Trunk or Treat” event for the Halloween in October.

“We have planned lots of activities for both these events and we are inviting the community to participate and enjoy in these events,” she said.
