The regular gas price went up from $3.53 a gallon to $3.68 a gallon, supreme from $3.98 a gallon to $4.13 a gallon, and diesel from $3.86 a gallon to $3.91 a gallon.

Mobil Oil Marianas service station staffers said the price hike took effect Friday afternoon. Shell Marianas followed suit over the weekend.
Commerce Secretary Marvin Rabauliman noted that “the economy is slowly reopening.”
He said when the Covid-19 pandemic “shut everything down, there was not much use for gasoline so gas prices kept dropping.”
Now, he said some airline services are back and “people are moving around again.”
He added, “It is like a reflection of what is happening now in the economy not only here in the CNMI but in the U.S. and the rest of the world.”
But he said gas companies cannot raise their prices beyond what they were when Gov. Ralph DLG Torres declared a price freeze three months ago.
The regular gas price then was $3.93 a gallon.
