Another group of Korean students to visit Saipan

The students will be joined by their school principal Kim Hui Tae and teachers Kim Hyeon Soo and Lee Hyo Chang.

The group is expected to arrive today and will stay on island until Aug. 12, according to Jun Park, the visit coordinator and P, Art Music Academy president.

“They will visit Saipan to join in a sisterly relationship with Saipan Southern High School,” Park told the Saipan mayor’s office executive secretary and cultural exchange program coordinator Vinycia Seman.

Park visited the mayor’s office on Friday to discuss the visit of the Korean students.

On Aug. 10, Park said the students will conduct an environmental cleanup and garbage collection on Managaha.

On Aug, 11, they  will visit the Aging Office to entertain and interact with the senior citizens.

Last year, about 100 students from the same school visited Saipan for a musical performance.

Park said another group of Korean students will be arriving in December.

Next year, 70 students from Saipan Southern High School, particularly members of the Manta Ray Band, will be invited to DangJin Middle School with their school principal and Saipan Mayor Donald G. Flores.

“DangJin Middle School will be responsible for the expenses of the Saipan students’ visit to Korean,” Park said.
