The workshops and the fair are the college’s activities in observance of Career Discovery Month.

A door prize will be given to the first 10 people at each of the workshop sessions and the fair.

At the resume building workshop on April 14, participants will learn how to build professional resumes, reflecting skills, knowledge, and education.

The self-employment workshop on April 16 will discuss the fundamentals of business planning.

The interviewing techniques and etiquette workshop on April 21 will reflect on how to prepare for an interview, how to present oneself at an interview, and how to follow-up.

Participants will also be able to practice their enhanced skills in a mock interview toward the end of the workshop.

All workshops, which will be held in Room D-1 at the college’s As Terlaje campus, have a morning session from 10 am to 12 noon and an afternoon session from 3 to 5 p.m.

The Career Fair, which will showcase the employment opportunities in the CNMI, will be held in the parking lot between Buildings W and V at NMC and will run from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

CPA advisory

(CPA) — The Commonwealth Ports Authority is reminding the public that the CPA field at the airport is made available to all free of charge.

 However, before anyone can use the field, it must be reserved with CPA. 

Any unreserved activities are not permitted and must clear the entire field without demand for the reserved activity.

 Everyone’s cooperation is requested and appreciated.

‘Parent Discovery Evening’

(Brilliant Start School) — Brilliant Star School is offering a “Parent Discovery Evening” to the public in place of our regular open house.

In an effort to share what a Brilliant Star education is, the school will be hosting a presentation titled “What is Elementary?” on Thursday, April 16, 6:30 p.m.

This will be another very dynamic evening that will preview the elementary learning experience.

What to expect:

• A presentation of the  cosmic fable “The Story of Numbers.”

• Examples of how the school teaches time management and the balancing of work choices

• Record keeping and assessment

• How the school addresses classroom management

• Child work examples

• The characteristics of the 6-12 aged child, such as what changes you can expect in them as they grow, and how to support their development.

Brilliant Star School provides education for children 12 months to 12 years old. 

This special Parent Discovery Evening focusing on elementary education is open to the public.
