Autism Society to hold ‘quiz night’ fundraising

Larrisa Larson, secretary of the Autism Society of the CNMI, said they have yet to finalize the venue and other details.

Larson said the quiz night idea came from NMC students who volunteered their time to help raise funds for the Autism Society.

She said the quiz night is open to those 18 years old and above, and each team must consist of seven players. Five players will join the game while two will be substitutes.

During the event, questions about autism and anything related to autism will be asked. More details will be released later.

Larson said if the turnout is good, they will do it every year.

She estimated over 50 CNMI families are members of the Autism Society but anyone who have a general disability can join the organization.

The society was formed to promote camaraderie as well as talk about related issues so that other parents of children with autism will not feel alone.

“You don’t even have to have a general disability or autism to join the group. You can be a member if you want to learn more about autism or volunteer your help for the organization,” she said.
