Arts Council Executive Director Angel S. Hocog and Board Chairwoman Ana S. Teregeyo accepted the donation from Bank of Guam vice president and regional manager Marcie M. Tomokane and assistant vice president and branch manager Larry A. Philip.
Tomokane said they are happy and proud to sponsor the Flame Tree Arts Festival.
“Since the festival’s inception, we’ve always been supportive of the annual festival which promotes the local artists and their works of art. It’s a great event for the artists to sell their products. The festival is also a very important venue for the artists to share their talents to their fellow artists, the community, and internationally through off-island delegates and guests,” Tomokane said.
On behalf of the council and the Flame Tree Arts Festival Committee, Teregeyo thanked Bank of Guam for its continuous support in promoting arts and culture in the CNMI.
“The 30th Annual Flame Tree Arts Festival is a big event that upholds our pool of local artists who deserve to be celebrated for their vision and creativeness,” Teregeyo said.
Hocog also extended his thanks to all the sponsors.
He said DFS Galleria made another $1,000 donation in addition to the $3,000 it already gave earlier. The Marianas Variety, for its part, donated print media advertisements.
The three-day festival will start on Thursday, June 9, at American Memorial Park, west of the Bell Tower.
This year’s theme is “Celebrating 30 years of Uniting Cultures and Traditions.” For more information, call 322-9982 or 83 or email [email protected].
