Biz-Aid Saipan officer optimistic economy will pick up

Jim Davies, vice president of Biz-Aid Saipan, said in a recent interview that business establishments can help each other in this time of crisis.

“What every business should focus on is in providing excellent services and products instead of focusing on stiff competition,” Davies said.

He urged the community not to be discouraged in the face of the worsening economic conditions of the CNMI.

“We should not be discouraged when we see the numerous ‘For Rent’ signs which have sprouted up at business establishments and apartments everywhere in the island for the past months. The island’s economy may be hibernating but it will come back, with the cooperation of the businesses,” Davies said.

He added that it is inevitable for every business to be affected by the global economic slump.

“We can consider this situation as a challenge for businesses to provide something unique to our customers,” Davies said.

He said although a lot of people are leaving the island, it does not mean the end of the world for the businesses that remain here.
