“Our goal is to bring general library services directly to students who are struggling with their homework and/or who are having transportation difficulty accessing JKPL in order to have the opportunity to borrow books and related multimedia library materials off site at designated partner schools, youth centers, and community centers in various villages,” the library said.
The opportunity to integrate bookmobile and homework assistance services is part of the 2009 competitive grant for the Pacific that the library receives and has reapplied for.
Library rules and procedures will remain and be applicable to its outreach services, including application for library cards by children and teenagers through their parents and/or guardians, accessing library materials only through library cards, imposition of fines and fees for late, damaged, or lost materials, registration to participate in availing homework assistance after school at each site, etc.
