Boy in serious condition after falling from 3-story bldg.

A SEVEN-year-old boy was seriously injured after he fell from a three-story building in Chalan Piao on Saturday afternoon.

Police said the boy suffered injuries on the head, arm and shoulder. He was transported to the Commonwealth Health Center where he was placed under further observation.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Pete C. Muna yesterday said the victim was in critical condition and hooked to a life support machine.

Police learned that the boy was playing when the accident happened.

A man called DPS and reported an injured person at a building on Beach Road across Marianas Electronics.

When Police Officer Charlene Cabrera arrived at the scene she found a man carrying the child, whose nose was bleeding.

No one was arrested. No other details were given in the report.

Police placed the incident under further investigation.

In other news, two men were charged yesterday for allegedly assaulting a man with a bottle and beating two other men on Nov. 18, 2000.

Manuel C. Cabrera, 23, and John Magofna Pialur, 36, were charged with aggravated assault and battery, assault and battery, and conspiracy to the offense of aggravated assault and battery.

In addition, Cabrera was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery. Pialur was also charged with two counts of assault and battery.

The defendants were summoned to appear and answer the charges in Superior Court on July 22. No other details were given in court papers.
