Burglars smash car, steal several items

BURGLARS broke into a car and stole money and other items belonging to a family that were swimming at Wing Beach in Marpi on Monday afternoon.

Rick Northern, 41, told the police that he lost the following to the burglars: his wallet, $62 cash, CNMI driver’s license, Sting Ray Diver’s check, Gaye Roland check and family photos.

Northern said also missing were his American Express Card, Master Card, Disney Credit Card, Global Travel Agency Card, Price Costco Card, Joeten Check Cash Card, and Naui Instructors Card.

Northern, his wife and children arrived at Wing Beach at 1 p.m. and parked their car near the beach side.

Northern said they all went swimming. After an hour and a half, he checked on their car and noticed that the driver’s side window was smashed.

Police have placed the case under further investigation.

In other news, a 22-year-old woman and two minor girls were taken into police custody for allegedly trespassing at Sugar King Motel in Chinatown on Monday.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Pete C. Muna said Neilyn Anson Simon was booked at the Division of Corrections while the two girls—ages 12 and 13—were turned over to the Criminal Investigation Bureau’s Juvenile Section for further processing.

The suspects claimed they got the key to one of the rooms from “Joe.”
