Hard Rock Café operations manager Reynaldo Perez said this amount included a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of exclusive Pinktober items like Hard Rock Café t-shirts, key chains, pins and other items which they started selling on Oct. 4, and the Pinktober cocktail drinks which they had served every Friday.
Perez said this amount does not yet include the proceeds from the special auction sale. Items auctioned off included signature bags, vases, paintings, photographs, watches, and more.
“Once again we are very thankful to the community for supporting us this year in our events to help combat one of the most prevalent diseases in the CNMI, which is cancer,” Perez said.
Local performers who entertained the guests included Larra Ramos, Jerry Alcantara, Rated R, Jan Alcantara, Chocolate Factory, Acoustic Avenue, Badjoe & Arriane, Retro Jazz, Fatal Hitz and High Pitch.
Lucky winners went home with various raffle prizes.
The Pinktober Concert was held in cooperation with the Department of Public Health and the Commonwealth Cancer Association.
This year marks the 12th year of Hard Rock Café’s efforts to raise funds for the cancer awareness campaign, and the Saipan outlet was just one of the 125 Hard Rock Café International outlets and nine hotels/casinos in 48 countries that conducted the same event on Friday.
Last year, Hard Rock Café Saipan raised $1,562.
“We will continue this program and support the fight against breast cancer as our way of giving back to the community,” Perez said.
