Teacher Aide of the Year Mr. Alingmal “Ben” Saures
“Mr. Ben goes out of his way to help others. He performs more than his assigned duties. He helps in school functions by volunteering to take care of entertainment, particularly music. He has helped students in their rehearsals for NJHS as well as the Book Lover’s Club Parade of Books play. He has been volunteering every year had has never asked for anything in return. “Ms. Susan Gonzales is an amazing teacher. She teaches the Chamorro language and traditions to students who have no clue about what culture is. She helps us find our inner Chamorro. Counselor of the Year Ms. Carmen Sablan

Support Staff of the Year (Maintenance) Mr. Ike Celis
“Mr. Ignacio Celis is probably the most helpful man around the COJHS campus. If you have ever visited Chacha Ocean View Jr. High School, then you probably met our Mr. Celis. Mr. Celis is an all around guy, always on the go, and always is high demand. He assists teachers, staff, and students at the school with supervision, maintenance, truancy, etc. As a former student of 3 years at COJHS, I have seen how hard Mr. Celis works to maintain the functionality of the school.
“Mr. Celis has proven yet again that he is deserving the Support Staff of the Year award. He has kept great attendance, an enthusiastic attitude for work, and a positive outlook on life. Mr. Celis has also volunteered much of his time to the school’s clubs. He was involved with COJHS Book Lover’s Club, National Junior Forensic League Competitions, and Sports Teams. As we all know, the backbone of every school is their staff. And it is because of the staff that school is able to function throughout the 180 days of classes. Mr. Celis should be recognized more greatly for his tremendous contributions throughout his years spent at COJHS. He deserves the honor of Support Staff of the Year. “What can I say about Mr. Dela Cruz? Well, all I can say is that he is a dedicated principal to all his students and his staff at Chacha Ocean View Junior High School. He does well in everything that he does and in keeping them safe from harm. Mr. Dela Cruz is a nice person when you get to know him. There are times when the times are hard he can be a stubborn person but that means he is doing his job and he shows that he cares for everyone. COJHS is one of the best school under his care. I think he deserves this prestigious award for he is a one-of-a-kind principal.
