CHC in-patient pharmacy closed

CHC’s in-patient pharmacy was closed on Saturday and Sunday as there were no pharmacists who reported for duty.

Pharmacy director Anthony Raho is on vacation leave from Aug. 14 to Sept. 17 while staff pharmacist Lorraine Liwiski has filed her resignation which will take effect on Oct. 8.

Natividad Asna, pharmacy technician, has been on vacation leave since Aug. 4 but will be reporting back to work on Sept. 2.

Variety was told that the renewal of the contracts of in-patient pharmacy personnel were still uncertain.

“There’s no sign that their contracts will be renewed — all the  documents are gathering dust at the human resources office,” a source told this reporter.

There were also 14 contracts of nurses that have yet to be renewed because of lack of funding, the source added.

With the closure of the in-patient pharmacy, services  provided to the patients, especially those in the pediatric department, have been  affected.

Variety also learned that Public Health Secretary Joseph Villagomez is on “leave” while his deputy, Joseph C. Santos,  resigned one week ago.

Villagomez could not be reached yesterday and Press Secretary Charles P. Reyes Jr. said he could not confirm if the department secretary was on leave and that his deputy had resigned.

Reyes said there’s no memo from the Office of the Governor designating someone as acting public health secretary.
