He said CHC is doing well.
“When people leave we do not hire new people — we move people from other departments,” he said.
The CHC recruitment task force, however, continues to evaluate and determine the essential positions the hospital needs to hire, Villagomez said.
Although some personnel are moved from one department to another, “we able to maintain the ideal” level of work and delivery of services, he added.
Villagomez said CHC is trying to hire four psychiatrists, one surgeon and two obstetricians and gynecologists.
The busiest unit is pediatrics which needs more personnel, he added.
The CNMI government’s fiscal problems, however, are affecting all departments including CHC, Villagomez said, but added that the governor continues to support the financial needs of the hospital.
