“Doc Talks” is the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.’s Facebook project that allows providers to talk about health issues.
For the first two episodes, Dr. Elizabeth Triche, a pediatrician with CHCC for six years now, discussed foot and mouth disease, hydrating children, the flu and the importance of getting a flu vaccine, and the difference between Advil and Tylenol.
“The goal of ‘Doc Talks’ is to allow providers to [address] the public directly with health information and advice, and [provide] the public a forum to ask their health questions,” CHCC community and public relations specialist Zoe Travis said.
Members of the community can submit their questions before the live streaming through CHCC’s Facebook page or at communications@chcc.gov.mp
The provider will select which questions to answer based on relevance and the number of questions submitted, but the provider may not answer all questions, Travis said.
“‘Doc Talks’ are not meant to replace regular doctor’s visits,” she added. “Providers will not answer personal and specific health questions, offer treatment advice to individuals, or attempt to diagnose conditions.”
Travis said the “advice and opinions presented during ‘Doc Talks’ are the responsibility of the provider, and do not necessarily reflect the official views or stance of CHCC.”
She reiterated that information provided during “Doc Talks” does not substitute for doctor’s appointments.
