Church serves over 500 during free health screening

Those who were not able to go to Kagman can still avail of the same services this September at the church in San Jose as part of its 12th anniversary celebration, he said.

Doca said they are continuously training members who provide services during the medical mission.

They have youth volunteers who will graduate from their Bible school training next month, he added.

The youth, he said, can help provide spiritual counseling services which are also offered during the free health screening in the villages.

Other church volunteers are undergoing training on body and facial massage, he added.

The mission also provides eye screening, blood sugar examination, blood pressure checkup and hair cut.

Since the church started its health missions in the villages, Doca said they have already served more than 500 individuals.

Before Kagman, they visited Tanapag, Garapan, Gualo Rai, Chalan Kanoa, San Antonio and Koblerville.

Doca noted that community members residing in adjacent villages also availed of the services.

“We serve everyone,” he said, “because this is the commitment of the church.”

Aside from the weather, there’s no other concern encountered during the health missions, he said.

He thanked the Division of Parks and Recreation for allowing them to use village basketball courts, the Northern Marianas College Nursing Club headed by Hervin Jacinto, Hardt Eye Clinic, Brabu Pharmacy & Wellness Center, Tropical Blend Salon and Spa, Marianas Eye Institute, church members and other sponsors and volunteers.
