In honor of the upcoming Veterans Day commemoration and November as Military Families Month, Executive Officer for Veterans Affairs Stanley T. Iakopo said that local service to veterans has continued and collaboration with Pacific regional partners have been made to ensure proper services and care for veterans and their families.
“We are still providing and assisting Veterans and their families with filing claims for disability compensation or increased disability compensation. Veterans and their families can still file a claim and apply for benefits during the coronavirus pandemic,” said Iakopo.
“Veterans are welcome to contact our office for a face to face appointment with Mrs. Vivian Taitano. Those who are filing new claims, following up on their existing claim, or simply inquiring about the process can come in and set up an appointment,” he said.
He noted that most veterans need help with getting their DD Form 214 or assistance in getting military documents.
“Our collaboration with the Veterans Benefits Administration office in Guam is also standing by in assisting our CNMI veterans through virtual interviews,” he added.
