Co-defendant in theft of spent shells gets 2 days in jail

During the change of plea hearing yesterday, Superior Court Associate Judge David A. Wiseman sentenced Sanchez to 90 days imprisonment, all suspended except for two days he served.

Sanchez signed a plea agreement, admitting criminal trespass at All-Hazard Management Professionals Inc. project site in Marpi where he stole used shell casings on July 12, 2009.

The Attorney General’s Office charged Sanchez, Ray Anthony Ayuyu, and Matthew Igisaiar with theft, conspiracy to commit theft, and criminal trespass.

Assistant Attorney General Brian D. Gallagher prosecuted the case while Assistant Public Defender Richard Miller served as counsel for Sanchez.

Wiseman required Sanchez to pay a $25 court assessment fee, a probation fee to be determined by the Adult Probation Office, and restitution to  his victim.

The court required the AGO to submit a restitution report within 60 days.

Sanchez has been placed on one year supervised probation, and will complete 50 hours of community work service.

Sanchez will not possess any illegal firearm, and will not have any contact with any victim.

The court also ordered Sanchez to obey all CNMI and federal laws.
