Count us in, Qarase tells Fiji’s interim PM

His comments came after Commodore Bainimarama said the membership of the former ruling Soqosoqo Duavata Lewenivanua party in the PPDF is questionable at this stage.

Bainimarama also warned that if the SDL continued to “harp” on against the interim government, it would only toughen its chances of returning to political power.

On this Qarase said “It would be unfortunate if we are excluded.”

He said he only told the people in Australia what the truth of Fiji was.

Qarase added that the SDL is a popular party and has the largest number of supporters.

“I advise him to keep us in the PPDF,” he told Fijilive.

Qarase has told the Fijian community in Sydney that Bainimarama’s behavior is causing a crisis in the region. He is expected to return to the country next month.
