Court modifies bail of man who assaulted son

San Nicolas also promised to appear in court for his scheduled hearings.

His arraignment has been set for March 28, 2011.

San Nicolas was charged of slapping and hitting his 16-year-old son with an extension cord.

Prior to the incident, the son and his father were arguing about camping on a farm, police said.

After the son told his father that he wanted to stay at home, San Nicolas slapped his son several times and also hit the victim’s right hand with an extension cord, police said.

San Nicolas, who was already on probation for assaulting his wife, told police he did not want to leave his son at home because the teenager might go somewhere else.

The defendant also told police that his son had been having suicidal thoughts.
