The Saipan senator, together with his supporters, filed his candidate on Friday afternoon at the Election Commission office.
“I vow never to sit down until our people have more jobs…until our relationship with the federal government is strengthened until our islands gain more funding to subsidize the high costs of living…until our people have more affordable utilities…until our people have affordable healthcare,” he said in a statement.
The senator said he will also lobby for voting rights for the congressional delegates of U.S. commonwealths and territories.
He promised to push for funding for the CNMI’s water, sewer, power, schools and roads to improve the necessities of life as enjoyed by U.S. citizens on the mainland.
He said he will find funding for the high costs of living in the commonwealth with respect to healthcare, education and other areas.
“Being a public servant remains my greatest passion…I will continue to serve our people as their senator,” he added.
Crisostimo on Friday also submitted a petition signed by over a thousand voters supporting his candidacy.
