CUC to conduct maintenance work in San Vicente

According to Gary P. Camacho, acting manager of CUC’s power division, the power services in six areas in San Vicente will be temporarily turned off to ensure the safety of the CUC field crew members who will replace old hardware of some field facilities.

“The work will require a scheduled power outage from 8:30 a.m. through 12:30 p.m.,” Camacho said, adding that the schedule is in addition to the new load shedding schedule the agency released from June 28 to July 4. (See page 8)

The following areas that will be affected by CUC maintenance work include Kamma Place, Hook Lane, Parasail Place, Batu Place, Gabba Place and Hudda Drive.

“The purpose of the maintenance work is to replace many of the aged and deteriorating electrical distribution hardware materials on the power poles,” Camacho said.

The maintenance work will cover the laterals on certain streets in San Vicente.

He hopes that after their maintenance efforts, a more reliable and efficient electrical system will be in place.

San Vicente is under Kiya 1 grid.

CUC already announced that Kiya 1: 2nd Partial is slated to be taken offline from 12 noon to 2 p.m., wherein the power generation in the Commonwealth Ports Authority, the international airport, portions of Koblerville, and As Perdido will be affected.
