These are for two information technology analysts, two information technology specialists, one each for compliance officer, accounting assistant, safety officer and accountant.
Although, the eight JVAs are not required by the federal stipulated orders, CUC needs those positions, its human resources manager Franklie Cepeda said.
CUC has no compliance officer and only one safety officer, he added.
The compliance officer is responsible for developing and implementing CUC’s environmental compliance programs while the safety officer will supervise staff in prioritizing and assigning work, conducting performance evaluations and ensuring staff training.
These positions have a salary offering from $12,263 to $44,429 per year.
Despite its continued hiring, CUC is not overstaffed, Cepeda said, adding that eight years ago, they had about 400 workers compared to the current 300.
“The workforce is still very minimal compared to the previous years,” he said.
Cepeda said some of the 18 JVAs earlier advertised by CUC have been reopened.
After a review was conducted by the Division of Environmental Quality, it was found out that the position for wastewater treatment level 2 certified for Rota should be for level 4, he said.
He said the modification is based on the population and water source of the area to which the CUC personnel are assigned.
The other JVAs that are reopened are for wastewater collection level 2 certified, water treatment level 4 certified and water distribution level 2 certified.
