Dandan school to crown ‘cultural king and queen’

This year’s king and queen, as well as their royal court, will be presented to the public, school principal Jonas Barcinas said.

The program will start at 8:30 a.m. and end at 2 p.m.

Barcinas said as of Wednesday night, the total raffle tickets sold reached $21,200.

“I would like to thank the parents of the candidates and those who purchased the tickets,” he added.

This year’s Cultural King and Queen are  Rickio Seidler and Kiana Hocog.

The search for the Cultural King and Queen started in 2001 and was held annually except in 2006.

During Saturday’s program, Education Commission Dr. Rita Sablan will deliver special remarks while PTA president Vince Torres will be the keynote speaker.

Each grade level will perform a cultural dance number.

Also expected to perform are the Inatuas Dance Group, Tekana Hau Nui and the Cab Dancers.
