He said “the accrediting team is generally interested in helping NMC achieve quality education and are coming over because they are concerned about [the students].”
ACCJC said it will pay the college a special visit “to address concerns about the institution’s integrity and the institution’s adherence to the [accrediting commission’s policy].”
It added, “The commission took this action because it learned of a series of events which may place the college out of compliance with the eligibility requirements, standards of accreditation, and commission policies.”
But Deleon Guerrero, one of the speakers during yesterday’s NMC Start Smart seminar, said the visit “is not a bad thing” because the accrediting team will help the college maintain quality education.
NMC continuously works with ACCJC in providing quality education to its students, he added.
“ACCJC had accepted NMC’s midterm report and it means we still have accreditation…it was reaffirmed,” he said.
He invited MHS seniors to enroll at the community college after their graduation.
