The golf tournament, the foundation’s signature event, raises funds for NMC’s educational programs and services.
“We are extremely glad to be part of this event and to help advance higher education in the CNMI,” said Dial Rent-to-Own general manager Alex Villazon.
The NMC Foundation is a nonprofit organization composed of community volunteers committed to improving higher education opportunities for students in the CNMI.
“The NMC Foundation is very grateful to Dial Rent-to-Own for their continued support and commitment to improving and promoting higher education in the CNMI,” said Ivan Quichocho, vice president of NMC Foundation.
Through funds raised from past golf tournaments, the NMC Foundation was able to construct and refurbish a new language and humanities department building. The department’s new building, Building M, was opened in December 2009 to provide students with better learning facilities and learning tools.
The golf tournament will be held at the Saipan LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort, West Course, on Saturday April 30, with a shotgun start at 7 a.m. and will follow a medal play format.
Tournament prizes for first, second and third place for the six flights include cash and roundtrip tickets from Continental Asia & Micronesia. There will also be significant hole-in-one prizes for the lucky golfer who makes the shot.
There will be six separate flight categories: Championship, A, B, C, seniors, and ladies. The entrance fee is $95 per player. Registration forms can be downloaded from www.nmcnet.edu, or picked up at the NMC Cashier’s Office, Saipan Laolao Bay Golf & Resort, or Triple J Motors.
