Department of Public Health, Deputy Secretary Lynn Tenorio, said they “are very confident” that the facility will meet the criteria.
Tenorio said a Medicare team from Hawaii was here in July. After its assessment, the team told Public Health what areas needed to be addressed.
It was a multi-faceted assessment, Tenorio said, starting from the height of the nurse counter to the water system.
“We are finishing up some of the areas that need to be improved, but in terms of passing the final review, because we had the opportunity to have this free assessment last July, certainly I think we should be very confident to meet the criteria for the final review,” Tenorio said.
The dialysis equipment meets the standards, she added.
Late last year, Public Health opened its new dialysis center which has a state-of-the-art hemodialysis facility.
