“The purpose of the fundraising is to get funds for a series of renovations that we are doing for the cathedral. It is our way of preparing our mother church for the new bishop,” said Fr. Ryan Jimenez, chancellor of the diocese.
The dinner will be held after the thanksgiving Mass at 3 p.m. on Jan. 17 at Mt. Carmel Cathedral.
Archbishop Anthony S. Apuron of Guam as well as Archbishop Charles Balvo, apostolic delegate and papal nuncio are among the guests.
The cathedral is more than 25 years old now, and the funds that will raised will finance the refurbishing of the pews, the sound system, parking lights, the rectory as well as other parts of the church that needed to be repaired.
For more information, call Fr. Ryan Jimenez or Fr. Isaac Ayuyu at 234 3000. Tickets cost $50 each.
