That’s how Alan Yu Tudela, 10, expressed his passion for music after his successful performance on Guam this month.
He has already won twice this year: at the Young Artists Competition in February and the Tumon Bay Musical Festival this month.
Tudela is a student of Saipan’s DoReMi School of Music.
“I am ready for next year’s competition,” he told Variety.
The other students of DoReMi who won gold medals on Guam are brother and sister Zhen Yu Su, 14, and Xiao Mei Su, 16, and Tatiana Joy Ada Calvo.
The Sus won the ensemble category at the Tumon Bay Musical Festival.
Zhen Yu, who topped the 2009 Young Artists Competition, said his successful performance on Guam encourages him to further compete with other musicians.
“I think I should aim for a higher goal,” he said.
Like his brother, Xiao Mei said she was “surprised and very happy” to win a gold medal at the festival.
“It’s a great learning experience for me,” she said.
Their mother, Hong Chao Chen, has been very supportive of her children’s music career.
“That was a good experience for them to show their skills,” she said.
Ao Zhang, the school president and music director, said his students have very promising skills that will further develop.
