“We are looking at continuing it but on Saipan only,” he told Variety.
Del Rosario, as DPL secretary, pushed for the development of 300 quadruplex housing units on Saipan and Tinian to benefit 1,400 families.
He submitted a $256 million infrastructure installation plan that includes sewerage, roads and water.
Babauta said the planning division already surveyed the project site, which is “viable.”
“I am progressively pursuing the project and we are hoping to work in tandem with potential developers that would put up the units and the needed infrastructure,” he said.
He wants DPL to be deeply involved in the project to prevent any “discrepancies,” like what had happened to the Tototville Estate project in which majority of the houses had defects.
