DPS says it solves Internet café burglary; 2 arrested

Wiseman earlier set $15,000 bail each for Sablan and Cabrera.

They will appear in the court for their arraignment on Jan. 25.

Both were arrested on Saturday: Sablan in Susupe and Cabrera in Garapan, on charges of burglary, theft and criminal mischief.

Assistant Attorney General Kathleen Busenkell is the prosecutor while Chief Public Defender Adam Hardwicke represents the defendants.

In his affidavit, Detective Steven A. Castro said a female caller called DPS and reported a burglary and theft incident at Siloam Market in Afetnas on Sept. 10, 2009, at about 7:32 a.m.

Investigation by Officer Kelly Camacho showed that the Internet café which was in the same building as broken into.

Computer monitors and computer modems were stolen, police said.

The glass door main entrance of the Internet café was also shattered, police said.

A witness told police that prior to the incident, two males, later identified as Cabrera and Sablan, were seen near the Internet café.

On Sept. 14, Castro met with Sablan in the parking lot of Han Nam Market.

Sablan told police that he and Cabrera burglarized the Internet café, DPS stated.

Sablan also told the police that Cabrera used a big rock to break the glass door of the café.

Police said the total items stolen from the establishment amounted to $2,500.

The stolen items were sold to David Market in Koblerville, where five computer monitors and three modems were recovered.
