Rosel Torres of DPW said Route 202 will still undergo asphalt paving.
“The contractor for the project is still conducting a strip test on the mix design they created for the asphalt paving,” he added.
GPPC Inc. is the contractor.
Torres said the construction of Route 202 may be completed this month if the strip test of the asphalt mixture will pass quality control.
He said they repeated the strip test because the first test they conducted did not match the mix design.
DPW is expecting to get the results of the second test this week.
The strip test is done to see if the asphalt mixture created will pass quality control requirements, Torres said.
