Press Secretary Charles P. Reyes Jr., in a statement, said giving away free bulbs is in line with the CNMI’s participation in the “Change the World, Start with Energy Star” national campaign.
Commonwealth Utilities Corp. consumers must prepare a copy of their utility bills to receive two free bulbs at the Rota Round House from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday.
The Energy Division will also inform residents about local vendors who sell products or services that help energy conservation and alternative, renewable energy.
Ace Hardware will display its products, including its “buy one, get one” elastomeric roof coating.
For every compact fluorescent bulb purchased from Ace, the Energy Division will give one free.
For every elastomeric primer purchased, the division will give one free coating.

This project, Reyes said, was made possible through a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.
