The commission has so far certified 23 candidates, its Executive Director Robert A. Guerrero said in an interview with the Variety.
During its July 9 meeting, the commission adopted Resolution No. 09-001 to certify a partial list of official candidates.
“Be it further resolved that the Executive Director is hereby directed to place on the ballot for the Nov. 7, 2009 general elections the names of the individuals listed,” the resolution stated.
This year, CNMI voters will elect a governor, lt. governor, legislators, mayors, council members and Board of Education members.
