The House Committee on Health, Education and Welfare is conducting a survey among residents about the services provided at the Commonwealth Health Center.
“Everybody talks about problems at CHC. This is now their chance to voice out their concerns,” said Rep. Ralph DLG Torres, the chairman of the committee which is spearheading the survey.
Through the survey, Torres said issues and concerns would properly be identified, referred to and acted upon by concerned agencies, like legislature, executive department and the people.
From total time before being examined/consulted or meeting a doctor’s appointment, clients’ and employees’ level of expectation and satisfaction to medical services and work respectively, morale and performance of current health administration, were among survey’s topics.
Respondents’ name is not required on questionnaires, contained in two sets, entitled: “CHC Patient and Visitor Survey” and “CHC Employee Survey.”
500 sets for each survey forms have been reproduced, and so far distributed to respondents at CHC, said Frannie Demapan, Torres’ research assistant focusing on Public Health.
She’s an incoming senior high school at New York University.
As of yesterday, Demapan shares 83 employee surveys and 32 patient surveys have been collected.
Online survey also launched for CHC doctors, and so far, 10 responded, Demapan said.
“We’d really like to get more patient feedback, but it seems that patients are not taking the time and energy to fill out the survey,” Demapan said in an email to the Variety.
“The surveys are in the office so I don’t have any solid facts for you right now….but from the employee surveys, I can tell you that many people are dissatisfied with the level of communication occurring between the administration and the hospital,” Demapan went on to say.
Asked for comment, Untalan said he has yet to read the survey.
The three-page CHC Patient and Visitor Survey has 13 questions.
The CHC Employee Survey is four pages and has 21 questions.
Respondents are provided with six drop boxes strategically located at CHC premises, Demapan said.
