Energy firm promises to donate power to NMI schools, hospital

A manufacturer and dealer of electricity through the Eyas Power Fund LLC, Synergy is offering the CNMI a power supply from wind turbine models that can generate up to 50 megawatts of electricity.

David van Over, chairman/CEO of Synergy Power, in his letter to Gov. Benigno R. Fitial, estimates that the firm will create within the first three years, over 50 relatively high paying jobs.

These include managers, plant supervisors, engineers, welders, technicians, educators, research workers and maintenance technicians.

He said 30 installation technicians will be needed for the plants in Rota, Tinian and Saipan.

 He added that his company has the ability, technology and a proven track record to bring locally produced, reliable and economically viable electricity to the villages of the CNMI.
