Fashion jewelry, postcards top sellers at art exhibit

The sales of artwork are also brisk, and this is due to holding the exhibit at a more accessible venue. Previous exhibits were held at the Arts Council office on Capital Hill.

“The venue really made a huge difference because the visitors have more hours to come to the exhibit and we expect a higher figure in sales this time,” art events coordinator Lucille Ayuyu yesterday said.

She said community members who have not visited the  exhibit still have until Thursday, Sept. 30, to come and view the displays or buy artwork.

Since its opening on Sept. 1, the exhibit has drawn a large audience every day.

Also on display are acrylic paintings, traditional art, skinless leaf paintings, photographs, sand painting, wood carvings, ancient Chamorro artifacts and  coconut shell carvings.

Ayuyu is urging the community to grab the chance to visit the exhibit from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday.
